Default My New Bonneville

Here are some pics of the 1998 Bonneville SE I picked up yesterday. It is the the non bucket seat version. Automatic on the column. It is currently not running now, the UIM failure that seems to be so previlant with these engines. This is the second time this problem has happened. So my plans are to put in a Supercharged 3800 from a Riviera or an SSEi. Make it a true sleeper. What do I need to properly make this happen? Please give me your suggestions.

As you will see here in the forums, it would be way too costly to try to convert your SE to a supercharged version. Also there are so many things you would have to change it would be better to just get an SSEi. Sorry to disappoint but it seems many in the forum here have thought the same thing only to realize its not worth it.

while Ohenry is correct

you can still put an SC Engine in if you wish

you would need the following

SC engine Perferably one from a H body, because some things are different on the motor
SC Transmission again from a H or a W body (HD version)
SC axles
SC PCM
and the Wireharness from a Supercharged Bonneville

Oh, don't worry, mine will be road worthy very very soon. With a fresh coat of forest green paint.

If you can find a parts car to pull the internals out you will be golden. If not you are screwed. Drop a L36 back in there, they are pretty much free these days compared to most other engines, and everywhere in the yards.

But hey, several members have swapped supercharged motors/transmissions into non-supercharged cars with a little work.

Dropped another L36 back in, and she is good to go. I don't have the buckets like most have, but so far she is driving real good. So far I am into it for $2200. My next plan is to give her a decent paint job.
