Nice.... I was getting my hair cut on Firday and was talking cars with my barber. He mentioned about how he got a Stang and I asked the year and he said 05. So I replied "you went with the V8 right?!?!" To only find out it was a 6. But it'* still a nice car.

Slouch? Remember this is a stock car at the track, not prepped, with journalists driving them. Not the fastest thing on the road but it'* a good chassis with a decent engine.

SSuperchargedEI ran a 14.9 stock but he'* been to the track a lot...a 3.5 is a mild pulley compared to a 3.4, and if you have a 3.4, a chip, intake, and opened exhaust, you'll be significantly faster.

I had an 05 Mustang as a rental car back in April. I will say it was no slouch. It was just a V6 automatic. The exhaust tones were real deep for a V6, too.

IMO, the interior was very cheap. It could have been designed better. I'm not a fan of chunky plastic. The center console was 10x too big...which left a bad impression on me. Otherwise, not a bad car.

i was just messin around dude. he'* always talking about how much hp vehicles have and what they run in the 1/4. basically the same way i was when i cared enough about going fast. and as far as him being faster than me: whatever helps you sleep at night... i could really care less, but i was being honest wheni said a 3.5" alone wouldn't yield a mid-low 14. but oh well, best of luck fantastic88. hope you're fortunate enough to get decent track prep and a cool day.

My only comment about v6 and even v8 mustangs is....no comment.

I will say that any car can be made faster than factory with the right tools. Some just have a better head start than others.

I'll vouch for the new V6 mustangs. Yes, i'd always go for a V8, but the new V6'* have 220 hp and don't do that bad. Plus, it'* a whole new car in 2005, it could out easily out handle one of our bonnies.... unless it was slick out, that'* where RWD isn't the best....

Well, a car like the Bonnie would likely just understeer into oblivion in the rain, it kinda already does in the dry

PPL lived until the 80s for the most part with RWD... Saying RWD is bad in any sort of hairy weather is a common response of people who don't have the car control required.

With a V8, and a manual transmission, they're great cars, and with some new parts they're even better. No they're not a hopped up 3800, but just wait till the new Shelby Cobra Comes out...
