Progress? I'm basically done with my plans.
Ryan will want to get under the dash..so the hush panels stay off for now. I'll charge up the battery again.. Since I haven't run it for any amount of time and keep the doors etc going constantly.
Glove box of mouseness is still out and laying on the driveway airing out. Might have to get a different one. The one that came in the new dash has a thing of touch up paint stuck in it.
The steering controls and drivers airbag are still off the wheel to be tested/fixed... I might test..Bandit will be on his own for toothpicking though. Everyone should do it once.
I wish I had time to take a pic and post it. The car really gained momentum last night. Got the grill, dash and console..it looks like a normal car missing one headlight with a smashed windshield...

Ahhh can't see pictures.
Ok.. here'* a thousand words:
Condition of the car when bought was overall no rust except surface rust on the subframe that holds the engine/trans. Ben aka BigNews looked under the car last night and seemed quite impressed by the original paint and beauty that is the underside of this car. The airbags deployed, leaving the windshield looking like a very pissed off girlfriend took out some aggression on it. Hood was buckled slightly and both headlights and corners were broken up along with the grill. The interior looks marvelous with clean carpets and barely used seats.
Then..I took out the dash, replaced the hood, fender, a headlight, grill and corner lights... yesterday I put the dash and console back in and it looks like a nearly complete car with a slight hood alignment issue, busted windshield and one headlight missing.

Wow Bandit or should I say badnit...lol you seem as happy as someone who has just hit the 10 million dollar lottery of this car. I can really tell you are more than happy get this car. Good luck with it for many years.

Who'* ready for the last and final update from me on the progress before Badnit sees the car?
Last night I got home during a torrential downpour and found a gray 03 SSEi in my garage (where I told him to wait). After looking over Pete'* new car, having dinner etc.. I called Bandit to mention how he and Don should buy stock in fish. The water in the front driverside was ...well..higher than the carpeting.
From how little the car has been run and doors have been open..the battery is not strong enough to start the car.
Badnit was a sad character... although he knew the seals would need to be done. I tossed the charger on, fired it right up and got it into the garage (after cleaning all the parts out of the way.) and vacuumed all the water out, leaving the windows and sunroof wide open.
Charger is sitting on it at a 2am auto charge for last night and today. I had picked up a new airbag for the steering wheel and was holding off until Ryan could rebuild the steering controls. Well..I plugged in the controls and they worked GREAT.

Just another good reason to keep it in the garage when your not using the car Ryan!
Where'* the leak coming from.......door seals? I take it then if that'* the case a trip to the yard for some replacements is in store? Randmans goop is only a stop gap measure right?
Ryan I must be nuts.....I had a dream last night I was at your place checking out your new car! Then We went to the track........rememer it was a dream..........I won the quarter mile!

The seal doesn't appear to stay in place across the top. it droops and allows the water to pour in from what I saw last night. A little goop will seal it to the frame and keep the rubber seal part of it in place where it belongs.
