Did it snow in Vegas or Nevada? I heard something about that recently in the news.
I am glad to hear you are happy with the new Buick Merill.
Lets face it, you got the best of all worlds there.
Luxury, comfort, styling, performance & handling !
One sweet ride!

The day we left Utah it was snowing in SLC, but nothing in Vegas or California. Somehow we stayed ahead of it all after the initial snowstorm in Utah.

Thanks! Yes, I agree. I really like this car. Since this is my 'retirement' reward car, I cross shopped some pricey luxo brands like Mercedes *-Class, BMW and Audi, as well as obvious competitors like Cadenza and Avalon (and Impala/XTS) and the LaCrosse didn't give up anything to any of them. Technologically it is superior to most, and none provided a more quiet/comfortable ride. Okay, it has plood in the interior that the luxos wouldn't have, but I had real Zebrano wood on a previous Cadillac that warped and cracked in a couple years. I feel like I gave all the brands a fair evaluation, but I am biased toward Buick because I have owned my Riviera for 32 years, and I had an excellent Electra in the 90s that was bulletproof. I just feel Buick is better built than any other than the priciest luxo brands. A lot of people are going to disagree with me, but nobody does chrome like Buick and I love Buick'* big chrome grills. They just have a presence on the road. With the big grill on the Riviera and the R hood ornament, I often get asked if it is a Rolls Royce. None of the other cars I looked at had the big toothy waterfall grill that this Buick LaCrosse has. It was the detail that was the deal maker.

Only problem I ever found was, and this is a problem in just about all GM cars, is you have to be a contortionist to get in the back seat, trying not to hit your head on the door opening when you enter/exit the vehicle.....and then there is the matter of sitting in the back seat, with your head against the roof....hit a couple good bumps, and your head will feel it....must be under 5'10" to sit back there.....

you have to be "average size" like 5-10 and 150 to be comfortable in any car. and i am way over that in height and weight. i have always liked wbody coupes because they are bigger in the front and end up being comfortable for someone my size. guess i am screwed now though. imps and things like that are not comfortable for someone my height even in the front.

I am 6'2" and it is all legs. Legroom was of great importance to me, but of course it was front seat legroom I was most concerned with. This LaCrosse was designed in China because over there they use these Buicks as limousines. They sell 3 times as many LaCrosse in China as they do in the USA, outselling all other luxury cars. (It is said that it is because of the China sales of Buick that kept Buick from being axed like Oldsmobile and Pontiac.) Because of this the back seat is roomier than the XTS or Impala...Buick gave up some trunk space to move the seat back. The rear doors are also longer, like a limo. I am quite comfortable in the back seat of this car. But, to be honest I only sat back there once to make sure there was decent legroom. For what it is worth, I can sit comfortably behind my drivers seat with it in the full rear position that I need. Headroom was more than adequate. We joke a lot that we are driving a Chinese Limousine. On this recent trip we went to Balboa Park in San Diego and parked in the lot. When we returned to the car there was an oriental couple looking my car inside and out with great interest. I don't know where they were from because when I tried to engage them in a conversation about the car they didn't speak English. They just kind of nodded and waved that appeared to be a thumbs up.

the only buick i have ever been in is my inlaws 2000 lesabre. its nice but not really my style. not a big fan of any chrome. thats why i liked pontiacs and chevies, pontiacs had none, chevies had minimal. they got this black colored chrome covering tape i bought to cover what was there. now that neither is available anymore i dont know what i am going to do. i am going to have alot of custom work if i get a buick though. the new ones do look cool if you picture the chrome as blacked out or body colored.

The LeSabres/PA'* had plenty of room in the back.....when the Lucerne came along, they sloped that roof line downward, and all that room was gone...
