They didn't exhaust all possibilities of stopping the vehicle though when you look at it. Didn't box'em in.....didn't drop any spike strips or shoot out tires (which could have had the same ending with a tire getting shot out). They just went straight for the pit manuver. Wrong....very wrong. But then again.....we didn't see the fulll chase. Weren't they like 17-19 yrs old??? Way too young.

It'* easy to play arm chair quarterback and second guess. I have been in that situation a few times and there is no easy way out all ways can end in death. It is a no win situation we are damned if we do and damned if we don't. I am sure options were gone over and tried but the trooper had to think of the hundreds of other people that were out on that road and made a choice. I bet nobody thought of what that trooper is going through now! We are human too and see things that most will never see. When was the last time you held a dead 5 day old infant in your hands trying to save it and then was expected to go directly to the next job! We have a tough job that requires split second thoughts and timing and get no thanks for it. Don't place blame unless it is where it belongs, terrible thing but all in all she could have just stopped and all would have been well....

i agree with 93bonni, the trooper had to think quickly of either letting the girl go on aned possibly injuring or killing countless number of motorists or disable the girl, which we kno ultimatly ended in their death, its sad but in the long run it was the best decision. Think about it would you like to be driving down the road with your family and all of a sudden getting slammed in the back by someone going 100+....i think you would appreciate what that trooper did/....there is my 2 cents
