The link you provided in post #5 above. Also I am having a possible tcc problem, will the enhanced GM tell me about trans codes? Also have a air conditioning code, will it read those?

I was able to buy a Edge Insight Monitor from 4 Wheel Online. It can view your current temp, rpm, speed, and even read and delete error codes. Its a plug and play tool.

There is nothing laptop based that can.

Depending on the year, it can be done via the car, or it takes the GM Tech 2 diagnostic/programmer which is dealer only.

I ended up purchasing BlueDriver. $99 on e-bay or amazon. Simply down load an app to i-phone, plug it in and it works! Very simple and straight forward. The blue tooth design is very convenient and the live data is nice. You can enter your vin and it will tell you the most common repairs for a given code.
