Good morning i just bought a 22 Equinox RS and my question is by it being the 1.5 turbo motor is it best to use mid grade or premium or just go by the recommended fuel of regular and if a mechanic is in the forum it would be helpful

The gov't spec is regular 87 fuel. See this link, then look on top right click on "Specs" https://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/Find...n=sbs&id=43989
It is a balancing act between lower fuel price & best MPG fuel economy though.
Testing on the highway with reg 87 & higher octane fuels, you may find that sweet spot of where the car may yield 4 mpg better fuel economy as an example..
