First, you have to read the code that set......this is usually a Chassis code, or C code.....you need a scan tool capable of reading "C" codes....
A guess? Steering wheel position sensor....

Steering wheel position sensor is one possibility, as is a yaw sensor. 9 times out of 10 on a Bonneville or LeSabre of that vintage it is a bad wheel speed sensor. Could be a problem in the electronic brake control module, and wiring issue between the EBCM and one of the wheel speed sensors, or a bad wheel speed sensor. Like Tech II said, the first thing to do is get the car scanned for trouble codes, but you need a scanner capable of reading chassis codes. The dealer can do this, and most transmission shops have capable scanners. If you don't get it scanned, you will end up throwing a lot of money on possible fixes.
The only drivability issue you will experience is a loss of anti-lock brakes when the SSS light is on. You will find this happening more frequently, until eventually it will happen all the time.

No programming, it is plug and play. It is also on the dry side, which means you don't have to bleed the system to replace the EBCM. The trickiest part is making sure you get the right part number.
2kgfu, I don't think it is.......you can't just just swap modules in newer GM vehicles....that module is going to have the VIN of the original vehicle in it, and when you try to put it in another vehicle, there will be problems because of the wrong VIN, creating comm issues...
Happy ending
I got an used module from another 2001 Lesabre and replace it .
start the car and ... no fault message !
it'* from 2 days and still everything OK .
For those how have the same problem :
-Take off the front left wheel (driver side) .
-Remove the black plastic cover , around the wheel .
-Now you have nice and easy access to the module
-Unplug the 2 connectors
-Unscrew 6 torx bolts (T15 OR T20 I don't remember)
-Put the new module and return the steps from the end to start
Thanks alot !
