Default 1997 Engine Swap

I need a new body! Anyone know if I can do a heart transplant from 95 to 97?

yes, the motor should work out fine for you. You'd want to use the sensors and wiring from the 97 as some OBD2 stuff may have changed, but other than that, you should be good.

It'll flop right in!

Talk down his price though.. That'* spensive in my eyes for a car with a dead motor.

It'* not dead per-se. It does run and when it idles, you hear NOTHING, but goose the throttle and you can hear the knock. I'm not worried about it. Quick easy engine swap and I'm good to go.

FYI Mike..you described a dead motor. It might not be dead today but the up to temp oil pressure and that knock says "ain't long, change me before I lock up".

Ya know..perfect time to swap the correct motor (that you want) instead of the one that is missing a bunch of pullies. I have never understood how the L36 runs properly w/o the pullies.????? LOL

John, its a Nikon D60! Such an insult calling my camera a Canon!

Bill, I realize that engine won't last long. But because of the current income factor, I'm going to have to hold off on the extra pulley engine and stay NA for awhile. At least this is a good start for the 97 programmable features that you told me about awhile ago. And this body is in FAR better condition than my current 95. Sorry to say, I'm a bit emarrased to post pictures of it.
