Default '98 SC2 Air Bag Light

Two weeks ago the Air bag light came on.... I took it to a friend who has a Modus and we hooked it up, and it indicated that no light was on, and it was showing no Air Bag codes......He said probably module is bad..... I got a module out of the junk yard and the light went off (fixed I thought)...... then 4 or 5 days later the light comes back on...... yesterday I went back to yard and got another module.....light went out, but stayed off only 24 hours this time before coming back on...... what else should I be looking at? The part number I got from yard was not "exactly" the number from the Original, but was identical in every other way........ ???

You might want to start diagnosing data bus issues. It may be complaining about something.

On another note. IMHO, I wouldn't trust any safety device computer from any vehicle from any junkyard. You have no idea what might be wrong with it.

In a perfect world that may be exactly correct, but I have no ability to afford the $350-$400 a new module would cost....... I could do it but we'd not be able to have any groceries in the house for an entire month. That'* why I have a 18 model year old car with over 200k on it..... If I could afford it, I'd be driving a new one.....gotta keep this thing on the road to eke out a living.
