Default Worn Transmission Mounts

I have had a good bit of clucking when putting my car into drive and starting to move forward, or backwards...
My GM Mechanic guy tole me he looked it over, and that I had like 3 transmission mounts failing, he said one looked like it was replaced already, he said they were not bad enough to fail it, but gave them maybe another year..
He quoted me like 900.00 to do the 3 of them, I think that is a lil high, not sure though.
The mounts GM GENUINE22146834 are like 103.00 each, and I am not sure if they fit all three or not, two I am pretty sure, but I do not even know where this third one is, he mentioned one transmission to bumper...

Is it that hard to jack the car up on jackstands, then get a solid wood block and jack, and use the oil pan to raise the motor enough to replace them?
He said I could, but said it is much easier with a lift...

Yeah, seems steep from what I know of the situation. I have a hard time believing that all three mounts are the same part number though.

I agree, I watched a video where the Nexus auto guy changed his, and he used a jack and got the car up on jackstands, then used a thick board like a 2x4 and put it under the oil pan, he removed the 2 dog bone mounts, and then raised the motor a bit..
Changed the mount, then lowered it, he said the tricky part is lowering it and getting the holes to line back up , but it went well when he did it...
I am not sure if the part is the same, I think that part is the left and right side ones, not sure where or which one is that he called the bumper to transmission mount..

Just read this, hmmmmm....

"Trans mount is on the left side of car as viewed form divers side. Engine mountis on the right side, then there are two engine stabilizermountson the front of engine that are mounted to the radiator support, note: these wear out more often than engine andtrans mount."

A motor mount lists as
GM GENUINE10448575 WHITE
But it is not white, it is black, shrugs..

There is a different part by PIONEER
605309
But it does not look like the other, it says Fits Front Left; Bracket, Strut to radiator support
or Front Right; Bracket, Strut to radiator support...
Maybe I can get him to clarify just what mounts he is talking about.

I know where all but 2 of these on the top right go, they may be the bumper to trans mounts//

Luckily My other mounts are not too bad.
You don't want to jack it by the oil pan, it will bend/ crush it easily.
My PA had quite the clunk & vibration when the front rad mount one was bad and torn.
I blocked the front wheels, had someone inside foot on brake, & revved it. Oh wow Buick did not like that ..it was toast.

I watched a video where the guy raised the car and put it on jack stands, then put a good sized piece of wood under the pan, and jacked it up letting the wood distribute the weight a little, he did not have any issues, all you are lifting is the motor, not the whole car.
But still yeah I am sure you have to be careful, as I know of that is one of the only spots to lift the motor with a jack..

Ahh, he puts the wood between the trans and oil pan.... Not on the pans... Although he says across the oil pan and transmission pan..

So have any others had to change these mounts on a car like mine, a W body?

Yeah I should probably give it a look, it may say lift needed as this job is usually done on a lift, but I've seen a lift if not necessary...
