V8 Engine Identification
Sorry to jump in ... new to this forum and have a similar question.
I purchased a 1981 firebird that had its engine swapped from its original 6 cylinder to an 8 cylinder, but I have no information on the specs.
I'd love some help deciphering the numbers I have found on the block thus far:
1- Front Passenger side
a. V0505DDM
b. 1GR190199
2- Rear driver side:
a. GM 5.0LG
b. D286
Any help here will be most appreciated.

Best I can tell is it is a Chevrolet 5.0/305 .
By the printing style and font it looks a lot newer than 1981.
Maybe someone has better resources than I do. Seems like if it is an older one then there are lots of resources to identify the specifics.
