Has the dealer serviced this car for most of its short life? If so, any dealer worth his salt would probably cut you some slack and fight for your mom with this problem. If not, GM will lose another generation to the car makers that are across those big bodies of water.

I don't know where exactly, but check to see if there is any kind of extended warranty.
Normally if there is, it is the law that the manufacturers have to fix whatever the problem, kind of like the fule pressure regulator on the 3800 series II.

my suggestion is: get an extended warranty on it, fast.

century warranty services is a really good company for this, they finance their plans at 0%

centurywarranty.com

id get a 0 deductible policy, most problems show up when money'* tight.

______

a trans flush might be in order tho, but last i heard these transmissions were supposed to be good for life with no service required, so it shouldnt be acting up at 37k (not that i condone leaving a trans alone for hundreds of thousands of miles, thats suicide)
