Default Outside mirror question

I just received a driver'* side mirror to replace the one the PO had all duct taped up (SWEET!)
The replacement is power/non-heated. Is it possible/feasible to swap the heated mirror into the new housing, or is it a PIA? Would be nice to retain the heated functionality.
Thanks!

Once I remove the tape I should be able to see inside. I didn't want to remove it until I received the replacement mirror. The housing looks to be very broken.
