Not sure with this one because the 98 has the L82 and the 2002 has the LG8. Some upgrades were done to it, but what to the block I don't know.

I have a 2000 Oldsmobile Alero with a 2.4, I want more power and I'm curious to know if the 4.0 from a 2000 Oldsmobile Aurora would fit.

The 2002 version of this engine has a bit higher compression ratio, a different intake manifold, and a bunch of parts changes that increase commonality with the 3.4 . That'* what I can find on it. If I were spitballing I'd say it'* 90% the same, then I'd warn that the other 10% could cause prohibitive amounts of work. Overall I guess it depends on your situation, how badly you want to do this, and your skills and resources.

From now on, We are just going to close threads that have been bumped out of old age. If people can't take the time to read the rules given to them in the welcome PM, then we aren't going to waste time by holding their hands.
