Can a'92 ssei motor be replaced by a'92 sse motor instead?
Cant find a '92 ssei supercharged motor for my car in my area; but have a chance to buy a 92 sse Turbo motor for cheap. Is it possible to put this motor into the car just to get it running. My original motor lost oil pressure; and then blew up, I was told by the garage that it would run between $1500 to $2000 to rebuild it. Not worth it for me. Any help would be appreciated.[/b]
There is no such thing as an SSE Turbo motor. Bonnevilles never got turbos from the factory.
The NON-supercharged L27 engine block will contain pistons and rings that are not suited for boost, and will also have weaker wrist pins.
I suggest a 91-95 L67 short block at bare minimum.

Can you actually look at the engine? I would bet it is the same as yours

Heck, if it is a supercharged motor, just tell the guy that some of the parts will work, and offer him less for it, maybe he will go for it
