Default Loud sound coming from front passenger tire

I have a 2005 Pontiac . I got in a hit and run about a week ago . They did some damage to my front side above my wheel . It looked like body damage only . 3 days ago I noticed a loud sound , popping sound like it'* hitting metal but only when I hit bumps . Could there something seriously wrong or maybe just metal rubbing against wheel ?

Any issue with the front suspension or rotating assemblies is a serious issue. Take the wheel off and see what the problem is.

Agred, the cause of the noise should be identified immediately, especially after taking a hit on that side.

Like, don't drive it until you track it down.

Hope you haven't settled with the insurance company yet because you have in their parlance "hidden damage", could be anything visible from simply the strut, but in all likely hood the wheel hub is shot now too not to mention the axle seal where the drive axle goes into the transaxle and if the hit was severe enough you may have transaxle damage too. So have your car thoroughly inspected by a competent mechanic, before you settle with the insurance company. Trust me, I've been there. This is all contingent on you having un-insured motorists coverage, if you don't you don't belong on the road or in this forum anyway.
