hi, my name is nick I recently just bought a 2006 Grand Prix gxp and I've tried and tried to program the key fob with factory remote start with the tech ll and it will not work I have tried two different brand new fobs I don't know what the deal is does anyone know what could possibly be wrong?

First, are you sure you have the correct key fobs(correct P/N on the back of the fob)....did these come with the car, or did you purchase them?

Second, do the fobs work? They can be tested by the parts department...


When you go into program mode with the Tech II, do the door locks cycle to confirm you are in program mode?

Another possibility.....some systems can program only so many fobs per car.....during the lifetime of the car, these "slots" may be filled......you might have to delete them to make room for the new fobs....

Yes I'm positive that the key fob works my friend gave it to me he had a extra one from his g6 gxp that he bought. It has the same number for the fob that'* for mine. I bought this car and it didn't come with one. And they programmed that same key fob to a different car after mine wouldn't work so I know it works.
