IAT/MAF 2006 Grand Prix GT
Anybody know for sure if my IAM if part of my MAF on my 2006 Grand Prix GT?
Pretty sure it is, if so what do you do if you are having issues with the IAT?
Clean the MAF wires with MAF cleaner and see if it helps, or?
My issue is I know temps reported by the IAT are usually within 10 above or under outdoor ambient temps, but my IAT is 30F off, is it is 45F it says IAT senses 75F, now I know warmth of motor also= has something to do with that, but to be 30 degrees off is a bit much right?
If there is a problem with the IAT is replacing the MAF the only way to fix it?

Yeah that is what I am thinking, car runs decent, but does feel a bit off, and I got a code for egr low flow earlier, cleared it and it never came back, then the car overheated a bit, got to 245F, I think I got an air pocket from my coolant overflow getting low...
I read some that sometimes temps can be off due to heat soak, some say up to 40C difference, although I deff find that way too high.
I am going to check the reported temps when I go out today, as the car has cooled all night, and IAT and ambient outdoor temps should be close to one another.

Yeah, the more I read, the more 30F and more seem to be the normal temp difference with IAT'*..
I still think it should be close to ambient as soon as you start it, after it has cooled all night..
We'll see..

Yeah, makes sense.
I did not get to check temps on my way to work, as I got out and seen a slow leak left my rear driver side tire with about 10lbs of air in it, luckily I keep a pump in the trunk..
I just don't get why they make it part of the MAF, on my old Park AVE the IAT was separate, I guess having the IAT part of the MAF lets the PCM get a better reading on the intake air temps...
I don't recall how close my PA'* readings where to being correct though, within 10 degrees I mean...
I guess the only way I'm going to drop the temps the IAT reports is to put a true CAI on the car, a good one is probably 250.00 to like 350.00 though, so that will have to wait till I address my front end issue I am trying to track down, which is probably just a tie rod, and maybe a ball joint...
Also have tint coming off my driver side window, so I am going to try to redo it myself, I used to be decent at it, been years though, lol
