Default got service vehicle soon light, trac off and abs light on at same time

hi i went out today to do errands and while i was going down the road the service vehicle soon light, trac off, and abs light all came on at the same time. i brought it over to auto zone and they plugged there machine in and it spit out the following codes:

V1000
V1040
C1276
C1278

the guy said the last two have to do with abs he believes and he said hes not sure about the first two. i was wondering if anyone knows what these codes are and what they mean? i know its in my signature but i have a thanks

Could be a speed sensor or bad hub assembly off the top of my head but those other codes I am not familiar with. Will have to let others chime in on this one.
Normally when it comes to ABS related stuff A Tech-2 scanner would be best to identify problem locations.

Little confusion here.....pretty sure they meant U1000, and U1040 codes, which are communication codes....seems to be a communication problem with the ABS module.....

Never heard of a "V" code.....

Which also makes sense when you figure in C1276 and C1278, which both seem to be related to the traction control system.

My guess is that the issue is electrical, and it took the EBCM offline when it happened. I would start by checking wiring and fuses myself. Also grounds, and battery connections would be the next place if a fuse isn't blown. When cleaning battery connections, it will also allow everything to reset because the battery will be disconnected for a period of time.

If the issue still remains after that, then it sounds like some deeper troubleshooting is in order.

probably the wiring harness that goes to the speed sensor. I used to get similar errors on my Impala, read on some other forum that the drivers side harness goes bad on Impala'* so I replaced the wiring harness to the speed sensor splice it in as far up tot the main wiring harness as possible. The strange aspect of this was I did not receive any errors when it was raining so I figured it was an intermittent open somewhere.
