Exclamation G5 won't start!!!

Hey guys, I'm new on here looks like a good forum! I'm just wondering if anyone can help me on my car, I went out to start it, it'* cold where I live was letting it warm up, went back inside and 15 mins later went out to leave and my Pontiac G5 pursuit had an engine surge and the taillights were flashing! Soo I got inside and my lock light was also flashing, it would rev up and everything but I shut it off. When I went to restart it it just turned over but wouldn't fire? Any idea on this one! And it has no alam system on it.

X2 as above ^^
Was the check engine light On?
If you have a OBDII code reader plug it in, turn ignition on, and see if there are any stored codes.
Besides the cold eating CCA, how old is the battery? You can remove both battery cables, to clear codes and while cables are off, put a multimeter on battery, what is the voltage reading on the battery?
Sounds like it was cranking over ok though.

A bad battery or alternator can do weird things to a modern electrical system.
So if you do get it running, would be nice to know what the output voltage is as well.
I suppose you can try removing the MAF sensor wires and see if that makes any difference.

Thanks for replies, I will check voltage, it was running before this tho and the alternator was replaced a month ago, yes it was the passlock light blinking , no radio or anything just that light and taillighs flashing, go to turn key and it just clicks that'* it. I unhooked batt cables and it still did nothing when I hooked them back up.

When you turn the key to the on position (without starting) does the light go off in 5 seconds or does it stay on or still blinking then?
