Mine looks to be a Y, line comes from pedal to the rear, then a line runs to each caliper brake lever.
It looks like the adjuster nuts are in the middle of the rear, unless there is also one for the cable from the pedal...
I can see the cable at the pedal, it moves but when I press the pedal it goes down so easily, and nothing in the rear happens..
I'll check to see if the cable tightens at all ASAP.
Finally got under it and got the driver side rear tire off.
When I press the pedal I see the cable from the front to the rear passenger tense up, but the driver side still turns easily by hand.
Looked and my pads are about gone, lol
How do you free the adjuster nut?
I PBlasted it (the equalizer?), and it wont turn, it looks like there is a clamp on it that is hiding a second nut, maybe a stationary one, which would allow me to hold it, and turn the other?
I watched some vids, always seen 2 nuts at the adjuster..
Looking at this I see that second nut, not the one on the threads, so apparently that band moved, because I cannot see that nut now, lol
I have new Z23 Evolution pads and rotors coming, 175.00

Reason: adding pic
The cables look fine, no rust, shielding still on them..
Just the equalizer is a bit rusty..
When I press the pedal down I can see the tension increase, release it and it has a good bit of slack...
I changed the brakes and rotors, and still nothing when I use the parking brake, I am starting to think they froze up like my old calipers, I had this issue like 5 years ago, but only drove the car for 2 of the last 5 years..
I am pretty sure I need to change the calipers, and it looks like it would not hurt to change the passenger rear side cable, it has a lil rust, the others look way better..
Then I'll have to learn to set the parking brake tension through the not on the equalizer. One way loosens, one tightens..
As much as this needs repairs lately, I almost got a new 2022 Nissan Altima SR VC Turbo..
I also have my eye on a 2012 Challenger RT V8 HEMI....
Got new coated rear calipers, the rear passenger brake line, and equalizer coming, along with a Mity-Vac self bleeder, I'll most likely flush all the old fluid out, it is like 5-6 years old... Castrol Synth...
And fixed..
I put the new calipers on, and decided to take the spring off and remove the boot, nasty looking under it, def what seized the parking brake mechanism up, did not have to replace any cables or equalizer, PB Blasted it and it should move to adjust, I'll get my mechanic to adjust them when he has both wheels in the air while doing the inspection.
Parking brake is super stiff, one tire at a time was spinning well when it is not applied, I could not jack the back rear up, I seen no good jack points...
Thanks my friend!
It is just so tough to get the rear jacked up to get jack stands under both sides, but both did spin freely, I just think the adjuster needs backing off a tad, just a lil moving of the wrench on the equalizer nut, I could do it, but I did my duty, lol
Sucks I put the wrong one on the wrong side first, realized it when I put the break line on, and it blocked a caliper housing bolt, lol
Busted a few knuckles, cut my palm a lil, but it was worth it!
