2002 Sunfire Eco-tech 2.2 P0300 code
Is this year engine smart enough to generate P0301 thru P0304 codes also?
Engine runs very rough, almost undriveable even for a short distance. Smelly exhaust but no smoke.
Changed plugs because of cost and 100k miles on engine. No change. Spinning my wheels and do not want to throw parts hoping to fix it. Do not think it is an injector but that is just a guess. Think it may be ignition control module but a costly part to just try. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
TIA,
Larry

OK, I watched the video....
Basically he disconnects the module from the ignition coils...turns key on, and checks for constant power to the coils....then he checks for a flashing light from each driver, as the vehicle is cranked...in this particular case, he found one driver with no signal, so this failed to fire two of the coils....
He also did a primary check of resistance.....he got 0.5 ohms....surprised he did not do a secondary resistance check on 1 and 4 output terminals on and 2 and 3 output terminals....
So basically, if you are getting a driver signal from both drivers in ICM, you need a new coil module...more often than not a secondary resistance check will show a huge difference in the resistance of the modules.....
