2000 Pontiac Grand Prix GT Blown Upper Intake Gasket?
I have a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix with a little more than 157K miles and I have a problem when I get under the hood and oil is everywhere. The car will lose oil over a couple of months due to leaking of some of the Gaskets I was thinking upper intake Gasket I originally thought it was the oil pan leaking because there was so much oil down there but it looked like it was coming from the top I just wanted someone elses opinion.

Change them both out, upper and lower gaskets.

Oil seeping from that area is common....so are valve covers, oil pan gaskets, and the oil sending unit.....
I would wash down the upper plenum area, the valve covers and the oil pan, and like I said the area of the oil sending unit(just above the oil filter towards the rear of the engine), to find the main culprit of all that oil leaking.....
With that kind of mileage, you can have several leaks......if you decide to do the upper plenum gasket, like Mike suggests, you should probably do the lower intake gaskets to avoid potential coolant problems......and while you have the upper plenum off, inspect the upper plenum where the EGR tube passes through for degradation.....you have a coolant passage there and if that plastic is starting to melt, you will need to replace the upper plenum....
I have to laugh, when the original problem showed up with the upper plenum, the GM TSB wanted you to replace the upper plenum, AND replace the lower intake with a new design that had a smaller stovepipe....Dorman was the first to come out, I think, with a new upper plenum kit that had a replaceable stovepipe(smaller diameter) and larger plenum opening....

OK, thanks I will take a look. I'll buy the upper and lower Gaskets and o rings and stuff to fix that. I will check the EGR tube i'll write back what I find out.
Thanks, Bryan

I just took the throttle off the car and it had black sluge that has build on to it like it was burning oil. Would a Intake leak do that ? Sorry if it sounds like a dumb question kinda new to working on cars.

On the throttle plate and bore? No that'* an accumulation over time.......should be removed though.......
With the throttle body off, look inside at the depressions of the lower intake....if filled with coolant, that upper plenum is leaking...
