What caused an 80 amp fuse to blow?

check the other fuses around it sometimes they get loose and touch on the back. sometimes the fuse is good but it doesnt make contact because the socket is loose

Not sure. We thought we were replacing the power steering fuse, after our power steering went out. Now the car refuses to start.

You lost your power steering? Was the car still running at the time? This hydraulic or electrical PS?

Did you check all fuses for "Power" with the key on?
