This is what happens when you have extra engines

Guys, it HARD BLOCKED, VERY LITTLE TO NO WATER PASSAGE, depends on how long we want the block to last.

W only get 60-70 runs out of a block anyhow.......which is PLENTY

On out small block SB2.2 stuff, our cylinder walls are routinly 0.185 thick, and that is with a full water jacket and no hard block.

sorry, missed the hard block part man if you put in a 4.2L stroker kit you could get some good displacement. Close to 265 cubic inches I think.

MOSTLY, it is from reducing the chamber volume down to 36-46cc and useing a VERY small dome to bring the compression up.

In the past (10 years ago) we would just run a LARGE dome to make up the compresson but we have found that we can make more power with a small chamber and a slightly domed piston due to better flame travel.

The smaller combustion chambers also help in the pressure recovery of the cylinder.

it'* a bit of work but you can take a rough machined TA perf 4.0 bore block and machine the 60* bellhousing etc on and end up with a 5.2L Talldeck 3800...

thank god you can weld alloy blocks easier than iron....

weve alway used reworked stock blocks, never heard of TA Performance.

I take it that their block is for series 2???

It looks like they only offer blocks and parts for the turbo 3.8L for GN'*
Speedster, do you have any pics of your engine work? I am highly interested in anything you do to a L36.
