The INTENSE FWI is the best intake system for a 2k and newer hands down. The K&N filter is a proven performer. Even if the competition comes close or slightly beats it, you're still deciding who'* fudging their data or testing in odd ways. Reputation goes a long way there.

Let'* not forget the setup that Rrounds used. While I think his draws air from the engine bay and I like the Intense FWI..
There are other possibilities.

Im using an AEM DryFlow filter, and have been for quite a while now. Ive had no adverse affects. Its been through rain, snow, and everything else you could think.
Even earlier today I was hosing off underhood, and hit the filter itself with a blast for quite some time, then started the car a few minutes later and it ran like a champ. Ive never had any water issues with the filter.
I dont know how it flows compared to a K&N, but according to their testing, they do filter better than K&N. Which is important to me, because I live in a very dusty area.

I'm running a Amsoil Nanofiber filter in my truck, it'* a dry filter that you clean up with shop air every 25K.......K&N Flow'* better than the Amsoil filters, but filters worse.
There'* an Amsoil filter going on an 03 SSEi tomorow or this weekend (big news 1'* dad'* car) for a FWI, that'* the same dimensions of the K&N sold with the INTENSE FWI. I'm anxious to see how it does on a Bonne, first one to run that versus a K&N.
