It was a mutual investment in time. Katie and I were there for 6 hours. During that time, we pulled the filters, stripped the o-rings and reinstalled older 'but still good' o-rings to interface with the equipment (top o-ring only), clipped off the pintle caps, removed the spacers and lower rings, wire wheeled the rust/old paint, solvent tanked them, ran them through the ultrasonic cleaner, flow tested them at 80% and 100% duty cycle, then blew them out at 100% duty cycle with compressed air, manually filled them with injector preservative for storage/shipping.

Chris still has to 're-ring' them and install new pintle caps, but I bet that'* already done. His wife, who also works at hp was in FL on business, which really tied Chris up with the baby.

But it was worth it for several reasons:

1. Cleared out the FIE backlog. Chris doesn't like to get behind.
2. Got the pool flowed for other members here.
3. Re-flowed mine for peace of mind. They still look great after 2 years.

don,t know if its right to ask this here ,but how do you clean injectors once there off , do you need any special solvent to let them soak

These are cleaned by a proprietary method and machinery that combines ultrasonics, a special sauce and a recirculating pump with a filter. They're cleaned with the goop flowing through them at a couple different duty cycles for about an hour. 8 injectors at a time.

Soaking won't get the stuff out of the filters, nor will it clean between the 'shutter' plate (not sure what it'* called) and the nozzles.
