Default SLE is staying for a year.$400 for perf. parts, what to get?

I've decided to keep my SLE for about a year so I figured I'd start getting into some performance mods...I'd like to shoot for mid to low 15s. I have $400 in hand and was thinking of these 3 things to start with:

1) Intense PCM...standard settings
2)180 deg. Tstat
3) Some form of air intake (Don't know if I should buy an Intense fenderwell or make a custom one with a rice pipe and filter)

Future mods: 1.9 Roller Rockers, springs, PEMs and high flow cat.

Comments, questions, emotional concerns?

Thanks a lot!

i think that is a wise decistion.....your car has low miles that makes it ideal to mod...chances are that you wont find a car wil comparable milage.....

anyway its cool to pull up next another Bonnie and Smoke it....plus its fun to mod....

keep the car and mod it

I like it..nice car.. you should hang onto it. If the opportunity presents itself later..snag it.

hehe....I'm gonna keep for a while longer. Going to shoot for being the fastest L36 SLE on the board. Ordering and Intense PCM, Fenderwell intake and 180* thermostat tomorrow morning.

What do you all think for after those 3 mods? I'm thinking either some PEMs and a high flow cat or 1.0 Roller Rockers

Okay, I PMd smellbird about his quarter mile time. Sucks that the SLEs are heavier than SEs :(

By less than 200 pounds on the heavily optioned SLE'* like mine. Yours is probably within 100 pounds of an SE.
