Yours is called the 440-T4. I THINK (don't take my word for it) it was also known as the 4T60.

Thanks for confirming I'm not crazy! Some parts dealers call it one thing and some will call it another The master kit cost $250, rebuild quote was $250(not counting any hard parts that they may find need replacing and are not in the kit) and as you may have noticed earlier in this thread I caught them early enough to have them put in a shift kit(I'm guessing between $40-60 for parts and maybe another $100 in labor). I told them to take their time because I want it right when they put it in. That will also give me more time to try to pay them w/o hitting the credit card!

You can call it either. You have the 4T60. You DON'T have the 4T60E.

Almost forgot, I ordered a HD torque converter. The guys at www.transmissioncenter.net asked if I wanted one at 350 stall or 500 stall, I opted for the 500 considering I wanted to get this car to the strip w/a shot of nos sometime. Can someone tell me if I made a good decision or bad or will it make any difference at all. It did not cost anything extra.

Do you mean 350 or 500 over stock stall speed?

See the part is.. I don't understand what they mean at the moment. Your stall speed in a torque converter is never low like 350 or 500. It should be around 2500-2750ish.

Do you think that the 350 or 500 over stock means that my stall speed would be 3250 instead of 2750?

IF..and I say IF they mean over the stock stall..then it means whatever your stock speed is and I'm unsure what it is....
