Putting the G6 trans in a Reatta could be as hard as putting one on a Bonneville for all we know.
PCM tuning wouldn't be hard at all, as far as the trans goes. You would basically spoof the trans into thinking it'* activating it'* solenoids.

I'm thinking a manual into a Bonneville would be a bit different of course being that that they're not an E body car but the concept of everything would be the same.

For my '89 ECM, Ryan of Sinister Performance said he'll have to deprogram the transmission codes along with idle adjustments, though everything needs to be changed in my case since I'm going from a supercharged LN3 to a modded SII L67

I have a friend with a 2000 Camaro and he just swaped his auto out for a manual.
I just removed his auto related programing (parameters) and his auto related codes, no problem.
I got an email from him just today and he said its running great, no isues. BTW, I use HP Tuners.

What is the GM part number for that trans and what is the HP & torque rating for that trans?

I'm just trying to imagine what it would be like to shift gears in my Grand Prix... I guess that'* why my daily driver is a M6 2000 FRC Corvette.

Anyway, I'd like to follow your progress.
How much will the trans and associated parts cost?
Can you get more of those transmissions?
Does that trans bolt to the L67 block? -which is the same GM part number as the L36 block.

Good luck and keep us posted.

I don't have the part number handy, but it'* rated for 400 n/m of torque.

The pric of everything has been posted earlier in this thread.

Schram'* has two cases of these new transmissions

It will bolt up with the 3800

My bad, I had the parts breakdown on the Reatta board...

Trans was $500 brand new from Schram'* on ebay. The rest of the associated parts I picked up from another yard with 22k miles or so on them for $1k.

cant wait to see the final project. I am planing on Turbo charging my LN3 and dont want to worry about trans failure so i am considering a manual conversion as well just mine has to be put off for a lot longer. This will give me some good ideas when i do mine.

sounds like a sweet project

below is a link to a guys 450hp 3800 in a cavalier with a 5spd , which was at one time stock 3800 */c with some bolt ons , which has ran in the 12'*

the trans he is using is from the 2200 ohv cavalier , from 00-02 a getrag F23 , which has been in some turbo'd eco j'* running 11'* , for a couple years of serious track use with no failures

http://www.j-body.org/forums/read.ph...05419&t=305419

so you know schrams is a large dismantler for GM , they strip alot of the cars and sell off some good parts

at one point they sold a caddie motor , that had long tube headers , seriously modded efi set up with a 5.7tuned port throttle body , and a 5spd , the motor was from a late 80'* early 90'* caddie , which never had a manual trans , my guess is it was 1 of the caddie pace cars GM built

Not much, no pix but I have been working on mounting the clutch pedal. Being that I work more or less full time I'm busy with that and also generating more money for the project. No worries though, this project is not at all dead

Some photos of mounting the clutch pedal. I have to shave a tiny bit off of the mount and move one of the bolts over, cuz the U joints of the steering column barely, barely touch, but otherwise it'* mounted. Next I suppose I'll have to deal with the master cylinder

The U joint rubs when the column is mounted back in. Not sure what I'm gonna do about the "boot" yet

I've been really busy with work, but this project is definitely not on the back burner or anything, so rest assured.
