Default sc swap to a 90 bonnie

I have engine, complete wiring harnass, and the pcm. The coil pack and resistor was not on the engine. Is there a differance between the 90 and 93 resistors? Thank for any help available.

Maybe he means ignition module? It looks something like an oversized blower resistor. ;P

Are you talking about the flat thing under the coil packs?

Please correct your signature so we know what car you actually have.

I assume you have the trans and axles also? If not, get them or don't go forward with the project.

I have a 90 bonnie sse. I just put a 93 3.8 SC with the complete wiring harnass and pcm. I replaced the ignition control module with one from a 93, and I get nothing. I put the wiring harnass from the 90 bonnie and the engine runs great. The hookups for the pcm are similar but there are a handful of difs in the plug from the engine harnass has a few more hookups than the og 90 plug. Is there another harnass as far as the interior wire harnasses? thanks for the help.

The only succesful swap to date was accomplished with both factory service manuals. You need one from your car and from the 93.

You also need the axles and transmission. The 93 PCM cannot control your trans, and your trans and axles can't handle the 93 L67 motor.

As on this moment the 90 bonnie is running like a top with the 90 wiring harnass and 90 PCM. Tomorrow I'm going to check it furthur and test drive it.

To get it running as a 93, you would need to swap not only the engine harness, but also adapt the inteior harness to run the 93 pcm.

The 90 trans is not a 4T60E. It'* a basic 4T60. The 93 PCM cannot correctly control all aspects of it'* function. The two transmissions are RELATED, but not 100% compatible. This doesn't even scratch the surface of the durability equation. The last time someone did this, our predictions came true. We're not telling you this for no reason. The 4T60 will not run 100% correctly, and is going to have a VERY short life.

The 90 PCM and 90 harnass iare running the 93 sc engine fairly well right now. The trans is shifting okay since the 90 PCM is controlling thing much better than I would have expected. I will keep you updated as I go.
