I've never once seen an intake mod cause poor performance or a staggering. Some cars are pickier than others on the MAF screen though, so that might be the key. It can't be the filter if it'* a real K&N. They sure as hell don't ship 'em dirty!

Is there pink filter oil in your intake track? If you got a K&N that was somehow over-oiled from the factory, you will have MAF sensor problems.
