play in the pulley? I've got some noise, but it doesn't go away if I rev it. I figure it'* bearings. I do have a couple degrees of pulley slop. It seems to me it could be the natural play in the gears, but I don't remember from last time I checked for slop. I'm gonna get a rebuild kit soon and want to know if I should include a coupler.

I say opt for the coupler and get it over with. You know you don't want to tear the supercharger down and realize that you need a coupler when the car is needed 'in the morning', but you'll have to wait 3 days just so you can put it back together, or you just have to tear it down again.

Like he said. Why not do it while it is off the car.

If you're pulling it off, at LEAST do the whole nosedrive. It'* easy. You'll need access to a press and a gear puller.
