I know aftermarket companies usually inflate claims but do you think this things worth at least 5 horsepower?

its very possible, you will see the low end of that on a stock engine, but if you start modding with items like intake exhaust rockers/cam, etc that could very likely be worth 10-15 hp

A stage one L36 TB will out flow a stock L67 TB. Your prob. going to be on the lower end of that 7-12 HP range just because it is a stage 1 and you don't have any other supporting mods. If you decide to go with it make sure to upgraded from a '98 style TB to a '99+ style TB and get a L36 TB Coolant Plug.

If your gonna get the */c then don't bother with a L36 TB. It won't match/line up right with the m90.

I'd say get some 1.9'* and LS6 springs in the mean time. That will work well with the */c kit.
