Really worth 7-12 horse power?Throttle enhancer?

I know aftermarket companies usually inflate claims but do you think this things worth at least 5 horsepower?

its very possible, you will see the low end of that on a stock engine, but if you start modding with items like intake exhaust rockers/cam, etc that could very likely be worth 10-15 hp

you could port your own for much cheaper

ComfyCar 09-20-2005 05:58 PM

I dont know how to port things, and according to that page the throttle plate is also larger

I doudt it, 12hp on a 3mm increase, she wouldn't flow that much more air.

Im not a mechanical type but even I know 12 HP is B.S but what do you say about 5?

daman 09-20-2005 08:56 PM

Mmmmmmmmaybe, thats more realistice

A stage one L36 TB will out flow a stock L67 TB. Your prob. going to be on the lower end of that 7-12 HP range just because it is a stage 1 and you don't have any other supporting mods. If you decide to go with it make sure to upgraded from a '98 style TB to a '99+ style TB and get a L36 TB Coolant Plug.

Right now I have the basic mods and do have the money for the ZZP SC Kit, but its taking its sweet time to come out so Im looking to pick up some extra horsepower while I wait. Friends with a Camry and 240 wanna race, I dont wanna get smoked that bad

If your gonna get the s/c then don't bother with a L36 TB. It won't match/line up right with the m90.

I'd say get some 1.9's and LS6 springs in the mean time. That will work well with the s/c kit.
