I'm considering adding headers to my 97 and I'm wondering how small can I go with my SC pully. Can I go below a 3.4"? or will I run in to KR problems. Also, what will be the ball park estimate on HP increase from stock manifolds and stock SC pully. Thanks.
there is no magic formula to say what will and what wont give you KR
Typically, you need rockers and the headers/PEM'* before you can put on the 3.2....
I dont see a PCM listed in the Mods either....

Get a scantool or scangauge first. Then try a pulley or two and see what your car will tolerate.
I suggest waiting until you get a PCM. Seems the S2 really favors a PCM to get the most out of a 3.4" pulley with no KR.

Scanning is key!
I had a FWI, TOG headers w/ full exhaust and a Intense standard PCM on my old L67 and I stuck with a 3.4" I probably would have dropped to a 3.3" but I spun a bearing before I was able to scan.
But if you do get headers I would say it would be relatively safe to go to a 3.3".

I do plan to get a PCM as well, didn't mention that, sorry. I figure I'll try a 3.4 first and see how that goes, then perhaps try a 3.3 and see how it works. I can always go back to a 3.4 if it'* a problem.
