Default Pulley size vs. KR

With a 3.4" pulley what would I need to fight KR. Would a 180 t-stat do the job?

Like Mike said, a CAI. Very important to open the intake. A 180 t-stat will help definitly. Also, 1 or 2 range colder plugs.

Opening up the exhaust will help fight KR as well.

Look at my mods. All those are there so I am set up for a smaller pulley in the future.

I believe Taylor still gets 3-4KR at very high rpms even with a 3.4" pulley + TOG headers + 180 stat + rockers, springs, rods.

KR is a very delicate situation and if I'm not getting any right now with my 3.2" I'd laugh for hours in happiness. But I'm running it for the track tomarrow and just seeing how she performs on the street as is. I think after the races I'll go back to my 3.3" for the street (3.4" is already sold).

So in short you need to get the car scanned to be sure how your mods are helping reduce KR...funny I tell you this because a certain someone scolds me for not getting my car autotapped lately.

True unfortunatlybut it'* only up to 3kr at 6k. But I really think it'* the +00 PCM somehow. Todd had the same thing, still little KR at higher RPMS untill he cammed it. For me little race gas and all KR goes away.

Anyway back to orignal question, get an intake and a colder tstat and you will be fine with a 3.4.

Hey Kyle go get scanned already! :P

If he'* not going to do much more modding, then a 3.5 may not be so bad. It woke my engine up, and I've not had to do much modding. It is not the best, but it was a good compromise for me.

When the PCM detects knock (through the knock sensors) it retards timing to prevent it. KR is knock retard. Retarded timing robs power. You want the timing to advance as far as possible.
