Exclamation need help! emergency

Hey guys I'm on the way to the hospital to see my grabdma and I shut my car off at a gas station, and now it won't stay running. It starts and dies within 2 seconds and its perfectly timed out. I tried the security re-learn from what a mechanic told me how to do it and nothing. Same thing. 2000 bonneville N/A can someone just call my cell? 715-820-2744. I got fuel pressure but I think its a security, tried unhooking the batt and still no luck.

I do, but not with me and my key isn't chipped, not sure if that matters or not?

Sounds to my like VATs is shutting down the fuel. I woudl call you if I wasn't at work.

Ummm where is the vat located? I just had it scanned and nothing shows up! How much is a vat and is it gm only?

So it turned out to be the MAS. I was thinking and then unplugged the mas air flow sensor and it came to life and idles smooth. I took the mas out and it was very dusty. I cleaned it and it was better but still stalled here and there so I got a new one from carquest for 141.00. I got a really good deal. So now it idles really smooth and the stumbling and misfire on idle is now gone!

Just read the post this morning and as I was reading...I said aloud "but ... VATs is 92-99"... 00+ is totally different. IIRC it won't turn over if the security on an 00+ is tripped.

Glad you got it covered. In cases were it fires and dies..the first thing to try is MAF sensor. What happens is the fuel system primes the cylinders and then the MAF gives a bad reading and the pcm says "no fuel needed"
