Default Need CASE learn for 3rd PCM from INTENSE

HELP!!!

I ordered a PCM from INTENSE and upon install; I noticed that the shift point was not changed from 5k to 6k in performance mode. I notified INTENSE and they had me send back the PCM to get re-programmed ($10 freight).

After 2nd PCM was installed, I had CASE learn procedure done at Schaumburg Pontiac for $118. Everything worked fine until I met another Bonneville owner who also had INTENSE PCM. His cooling fan stayed running after car was off. This feature is standard on re-programmed PCMs. I notified INTENSE and I had to pay $100 core to have new one sent (3rd), then when 2nd was returned I would receive full credit for the core ($10 freight).

Now, I have to have another CASE learn procedure done for 3rd PCM. I've asked INTENSE to cover this additional cost because clearly they made a mistake. They believe that the program is correct and the PCM is possibly defective. Any way you look at it, this is their fault, however, I'm stuck with paying $260 more than what I should have paid. I even asked if they could not contribute toward 2nd CASE learn to have some sort of in-store credit toward their merchandise, which they vehemtly declined.

I'm asking if there is anyone in the Chicagoland area that can help me get the CASE learn procedure done at a minimal cost.

I can do it for you, but that would be at least a couple of hours drive for you. You may want to try calling a few other dealers and see what they charge. Perhaps it will be cheaper.

Thanks for the offer!
However, you're about 3 +1/2 hours drive from me. Round trip would be roughly 420 miles and 7 hours. At 18 MPG, it would cost me $86 in gas. Pontiac dealer is charging me $118. Last time I had the CASE learn, I called around and none of the dealerships even knew what I was talking about. One, knew but didn't have the Tech2 machine to do it.

Thanks again, but I need someone closer.

Doing a case learn at the dealer takes at most 1/2 hour including a coffee break.
They shouldn't charge you more than 1/2 hour of labour

I have the same posting on Northern Illinois F-Body Association and Windy City Pontiacs.

Yeah, dealers don't charge by the 1/2 hour. They should, but don't.

The dealers (or at least one of them) must be a bit kinder around here. My son had his PCM reprogrammed and updated and they only charged him $75 on his '99 GP.

In greater Chicagoland area, $100 to $120 is the going rate for 1 hour of labor at any dealership. Crazy!
