Has anybody dualed out their exhaust on the 2000+ models? When I get ready to do some exhaust work on mine (tranny has to come first) I'd like to do some thinking about dualing it out.

Carl...having both series..the S2 seems quieter..but that could be due to age and the S1 is probably getting ready to need exhaust.

Otherwise..as far as I can tell..they are compatible.

Note: the S2 might be higher flow due to the increased hp and whatnot..but that'* just a guess.

Zulu: No ideas...I'd post that question in the 00+ mechanical forum

I can't win. Apparently you can't get a replacement muffler for an SSEi. I ordered one through Tire Warehouse and it'* an SE single in/single out. My GM dealer can get one for $260 for the muffler and pipes but there'* no guarantee it'* not for an SE as well. I'm going to do a little more research and see what I can find. Ugh!

The two original mounts mount on the inlet pipe and the tail pipe, the SSEi mounts on the two tail pipes.

That'* good to hear. I didn't know if they'd line up or not. Where did you get your muffler? As for tips, I'd like to use the SSEi tips.

Problem solved! I had no luck finding an SSEi muffler so I bought a muffler for a 95 Firebird, 3.8 V6. I'm really happy with it. It'* just a little louder than the stock SE muffler inside the car but it sounds louder than the sock setup. The muffler I used is a Walker 18375 and it ran me $38 from NAPA. I added two 90 degree elbows, a universal hanger, all needed clamps and two cuplers. The total came to about $70. It'* a 2.5 in and two 2.25 outs. It'* perfect! Here'* a few pics...

I'm buying some chrome tips next weekend.... I'm thinking of 45 degree cutoffs.
