Check this Oil Study out:

They have finished the Mobil 1 part of their study and now are doing the same with Amsoil:

I personally prefer Mobil 1. I think Amsoil is probably good oil but I don't think it'* as good as people male it out to be. They claim to be the first in synthitic but the founder actually worked with mobil before he decided to make hiis own oil.

hi
i would like to try amsoil, as i have no doubt its a premium lube product. but the ease of purchase and the low price of m1 makes it the obvious oil for most.
those links are functional.

Amsoil
I have am using Amsoil in my 01 with 31k and my previous 00 which had 75k when I traded it (both ssei'*). It cost me about 30$ a change including the Amsoil filter. This change I am not using the Amsoil filter and have purchased WIX. No particular reason, I was getting a transmission kit, air filter and cabin air filter and decided to get the oil filter at the same time which I change about 5k miles. FYI there are two cabin air filters available, a regular filter and one with charcoal in it, this filter costs about 40$ but is designed to do a real good job filtering out the junk in the air.

hi
wear items would be copper/lead (bearings) and iron ( cylinders ) ..etc. if they are trending down , three or more analysis would show this over the distance/time period in question.
