Default Light up the front pontiac logo

I have a 92 bonneville se and i was cleanin up some rust on the hood today and i decided i want to light up the red pontiac triangle logo on the front of the car. I took off the entire badge, then popped just the triangle away from the base. The red paint already on it is not transparent, so i sanded the paint away and sanded the badge flat.
What im wondering is what would be the best way to light this thing up. Right now it is clear but i would like it to be red in the daytime then at night i can hit a switch and have it light up red. I tried sticking the tape that you cover a broken tailight with on there and it looked alright but i was hoping for something better. Also how should i light it up?

Since you want light only in one area I'd probably aim toward really small bulbs or ....LED'*.

It'* kinda funny. When I mentioned doing this a couple of years ago, I was told "Don't do it. No red lights on the front"

Not a repost per se. The conversation pretty much stopped at the line I posted above...

Lot of good ideas in this thread...

use like 4-5 LEDs, and put a film over it to diffuse the light into the pontiac shape.
