Default Latest project.....more cooling.

This weekend, I'm wiring up a manual fan override switch. For both low and high speed cooling fans.

A 3-position switch. NORM is the center position. For normal PCM controlled fan operation. Low would be to force the low speed fan on, High for the high. May put in some status lights so I know at a glance what mode I'm in, as the switch may be hidden.

I'll do a blow-by-blow with pics so you can see which wires we do this with.

I am sure you thought of this before, but what if you rig up a fan that sucks out hot air and disposes it through a tube that leads outside of the car? Would that work at all?

For us cheapos, to achieve high fan speed at the track or on those 100+ degree days unplug the pressure relief valve for the a/c system. The fans will go on high speed until the valve is plugged in again. Thats the free way out for the fan mods.

Man... You'd have to get out of the car and fiddle with that...

The ZZP switch I installed works the same way, and it'* not very expensive.

.....but I know Will prefers to do his own electronics.

The Series II fan switch won't work for Series I'*. One has a three wire harness, the other has four.
