It should insulate it but just for extra cooling, I insulated the boot too.

Hey, I removed the front light assembly and there is a ram air passage right into the top of the cold box and with the sides of the box sealing agaist the hood, although it'* not air tight, should induce a cooling effect.

Looking better and better every time you tweak that sucker.

I'm working on the final versions of mine too, and you're right, the 92-99 can't do what you did.

Within my budget sure.

I've got my ideas, after the trip they'll come to life.

After having driven the car for only a week after installing the ram air hose, I measure a very noticeable difference.
Hmmm...there'* just enough room for a couple of six packs inside that cool box. It would keep them chilled.
Seriously though, I measure about a 10* F drop in temperature from what it was before. Now it is virtually the same temperature as the outside air....and when the outside air is cool and dense...whooooooeeeeeeeeee

After having driven the car for an hour in city stop and go I can pop the hood and the inside of the intake filter box is cold to the touch. The same as outside air temp.
I'm very happy with the results.

Would you be able to just connect the air filter to the throttle body?
