but.. everything can happen.
ill ask my chinese mechanix(damn he know everything about honda)

Im in the process of a motor build and im using exaust wrap, its sitting in my garage, and the make a spray on Silicone Coating that you put on the pipe to protect it from mositure and it can go on the wrap to condition it and keep it from deteriorating. Its like 7 bucks a can and can be purchased anywhere that you can buy wrap, race shop, summit, jegs...
Ive heard about the warranty void from wrap... but not cracking...

My experience with wrap had good and bad points, but since I didn't do hardcore testing I can't say the bad was directly related. I do know that prior to wrapping my manifolds I did not have any cracks in it. When I took the wrap off to rebuild the engine (maybe 8 months later) I had at least 3 fair sized cracks in the manifolds. Was it caused by the wrap or coincidence? I don't know, but considering how many other places are talking about this same thing I'm lead to believe the wrap had a hand in it.
Proceed with caution I guess...

I have had the wrap on my Hooker header on my Firebird since 1991 and they haven't cracked yet. Keeps it very cool under the hood.
The TOG headers on my SSEi are ceramic coated but they run a bit hotter than with the wrap.
Applying the wrap is a royal pain. You have to wet it down before you apply it and it gets all over you. Fibreglass is ichy....real ichy. Then after it is applied and clamped down with the stainless staps, you need to spray paint with heat paint so it stays lookin good for many years.
I have over 30,000 miles and 14 years on mine now and it still looks good, except where I ground off the bottom in a spot going over a speed bump once...or twice.
