Default Header Wrap and Warranties

i, like many of you, have read the header wrap threads and gone back and forth between whether "to wrap" or "not to wrap."

i know the benefits and would have no problem wrapping a set of $80 Hooker Headers on my Firebird - who cares about the warranty on a $80 set of headers?

BUT, on a set of $700 SLP, or worse $900 TOGS??? That i really can not bring myself to do, unless they are already out of warranty.

Thus my question:

When does the warranty on SLP and TOG headers expire? Is it a "lifetime" deal? 3-years? If i get a used set, how do i prove how old they are? (i know the answer to this last one - i don't, but i had to add it as my thought train was running )

im a chicken i couldnt wrap a set of 900 dollar headers unless i was bill gates son and usually the warranty is about 3 years on performance headers that i have seen some is also lifetime its up to the manufacturer

I'm pretty sure that TOG said something to the effect of 'even if you run over them with a truck' they will replace them. But they won't cover them if they were wrapped.
Did you ever think of just wrapping the crossover? I know i've seen just crossovers in some classifieds. So, you could replace it. Or find one for an extra.

TOGS are lifetime warrenty, not sure though if its only to the orignal purcharser. Why the sudden interested in wrapping headers? Just curious. I can say with my ceramic TOGS that they do cool pretty fast. say 20 min or so you can grab them no problem. Local ILGPC member brought a digital Lazer thermometer. Checking blower/block temps with/out Intercoolers and checking headers to manifold temps. Headers helped big time, so does a intercooler

Sudden interest? i have always been interested! the price has been holding me back, but within the next two weeks i will have a set of SLPs if everything goes well.
