Yeah, mine is about 2-2.5' long...I'd get 3 just to be safe

If you gut the air box you may not need a dremel tool. Mine was so brittle I just hammered it out.

I just did some of it using a utility knife. I took out the big resonator in the rear section. Am I supposed to take out the thing on the front too...and is there anything else? Also where exactly do I want to direct the ducting from the box? It doesn't seem there is a lot of room for ducting.

Well I took out the front and rear resonator...and sometime when I have the patience and time I will take out all of those fins and smoth out and polish the inside. I haven't cut the hole bigger on the front nor have I added the ducting but there does seem to be a little more power...most notable on hills.
