Default GT1 Cam Break IN procedure

I've kept my speed down to about 40-42 MPH trying to break in the new cam and various components. I was wondering exactly how long it takes before i can experience its full capabilities?

Since you have roller lifters, there isn't much break-in involved. When we did my cam, we ran it at idle for about 20 total minutes before I took it out on the road. Babied it for a few hours, then started beating the snot out of it. If you've driven it for about a day, you should be fine.

How does it feel? Do you have more power in the bottom end or the top end? When you timed it, did you just line up the marks? Did you use a stock timing set or Rollmaster?

Sorry for all the questions...

I dunno if i have either but its feeling more like low end cuz im getting some massive response. totaly on accident of course cuz im use to mashing the pedal. but it feels nice. To answer your question about the marks, yeah we just matched them up, tightend the cam bolt and put on the cover. As far as the timing chain it ordered it all off ZZperformances cam install kit. So whatever it came with. I haven't the slightest idea but i imagine its just a stock chain. But i just now noticed a leak in the weld on my dual exhaust. That will be fixed on friday/saturday when i get a shop to bolt up and weld on my new 3800 series 2 headers!

Sounds good. Glad you got through the install, despite the hiccups. Hopefully you'll be able to lay down some good times at the 1/4 mile
