Got my Bonnie's wish list - wadday think??
To each his own. Seems some have had success with stock springs and higher lift, and some haven't.
I'll say this, then I'll shut up: I've seen/heard/read horror stories related to increased lift on the 3800 with:
-Stock springs (broken springs)
-LS6 springs (increased timing chain/tensioner wear, and a broken spring story, IIRC)
-CompCams 130# springs (also increased timing wear)
I've never heard about any problems traced to the Comp Cams 105# springs.
(Of course, maybe I just haven't looked hard enough)

No, i totally agree bud. I am have stock springs and i am taking a chance. I will be doing 105'* and myself i have never heard a bad story about them either. But i talked to zoom and i talked to wizbang and both said word for word "you are fine with stock shift points, if you raise your shift points switch your sprigns PERIOD." They also both said "if you have stock shift points then you are underachieving and you are in now way experiencing the true potential of ER Rockers", with that being said i gained a solid 3 tenths and 2.5 mph in the 1/4 with ER Rockers and STOCK shift points. That is with say 50-75 passes before the springs maybe more and atleast the same amount after on different days and different weather conditions with nothing changed but the rockers. These are truely the best rockers in my opinion. If i gain that with these rockers and stock shift points even if i gained another tenth and .5 mph i would be very happy. That would be 4 tenths and 3 mph. The GT1 cam is said to give you 5 tenths. Sooo, i am happy with my rockers.
Cliff notes, if you are doing higher ratio rockers and going to increase shift points change your springs, there is no reason to even chance it
If you are going to keep stock shifts points well it is a wait and see kinda thing and hope you dont have any problems.

Thanks to all that chimed in!
My plan now is to begin by:
Replace UIM gasket and LIM (before they start to leak)
While I'm at it, install ported LIM and replace UIM w/Dorman
Install front PEM
Change to 180* thermostat
Based on agrazela'* work in different thread, I should get a real nice kick in the @$$!
While it is apart I'm thinking I should add ZZP ER Rockers and replace springs.
After that I'll probably drive it a while.
Then consider a reprogrammed PCM or get me a tuner.
Look into a hi-flow cat and how it works w/ CARB rules.
Before I do anything with a TB coolant plug, heat shield, or ceramic crossover, I'll do some more research to find out about their real effectiveness.
I have a job to complete (for work) before I will have time to dive into this so I won't be turning any wrenches until June.

APN UIM is better than Dorman. And lose the DEX coolant and go to the green stuff or the DEX compatible stuff. You'll find links with a search.
Dex is the devil. There'* a Techinfo article on it.

I didn't mention it because I figured that it goes without saying - otherwise we wouldn't be changing the gaskets...
